Summer Saturday Mornings

Join Chery Lambert Saturday mornings for a class devoted to increasing strength and improving dance technique. Men and women are welcome to participate in this class that is determined by participants. Sometimes focusing on a particular movement or developing core support and endurance, this class provides a good balance. $10/week, pay-as-you-go. Classes will begin May 5 and continue through Augutst 18, from 10:30-11:45 am at the Wrainbow.  There are some Saturdays when class will not be held: download the current flyer or call for more information: 309.838.8738.

Just Make It Happen, DeKalb

Just Make It Happen, "Let's Dance" Big Band Dance weekend on the Northern Illinois University campus

  • Live bands Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday morning.
  • Dance lessons Saturday morning.
  • Meal/Dance packages available.
  • Some on-site housing.

Eagles Club Fridays

The Bloomington Eagles Club has a live band on alternate Friday nights with $5 cover. Non-Eagles members are welcome.

Prairie Land Dance Center, Illiopolis

A large (4,000 sq ft.) hardwood dance floor with plenty of space for multiple styles of dancing. Check their website pldc.org for information about dance events. They generally host The Groove dances on the 2nd Saturday of the month and ballroom dances the 3rd Saturday of the month in addition to periodic West Coast Swing lessons/dances.

Let's Bring Back Dance

Mickey Lower will be hosting a new social dance opportunity offered by the Normal Parks & Recreation Department. Dances will be held at the Normal Community Center on Tuesday evenings from 7-9 pm. Music will include a variety of social dance music. Admission will be $3 per person, with mini-intro classes will be offered the first two weeks of the month. No partner necessary.
